David is the Founder of Maddox Planning, established in 2008 with a clear mission: to empower planners with the platform, support, and autonomy they need to thrive. Under his leadership, Maddox has grown into a forward-thinking consultancy known for its integrity, talent-first culture, and delivery of intelligent planning solutions.

 

David brings over two decades of experience to his role, combining strategic insight with a collaborative approach. Prior to launching Maddox, he was Planning Director at international design practice Scott Brownrigg. His background spans both planning and urban design, enabling a holistic perspective on shaping places that deliver for people, communities, and clients alike.

 

He holds a BSc in City and Regional Planning from Cardiff University and a Diploma in Urban Design from the University of Westminster. David is a Chartered Town Planner (MRTPI), a qualified Urban Designer, and a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts (FRSA).
