David Maddox

Founder

David founded Maddox Planning in 2008 and leads the strategic direction of the practice. With more than two decades of experience in planning and urban design, he has worked across complex development projects in London and beyond, advising on the planning, design and delivery of places through different stages of the development process.

Before establishing Maddox Planning, David was Planning Director at international design practice Scott Brownrigg. That background in both planning and urban design continues to shape his approach: combining an understanding of policy and process with a broader interest in how development is conceived, designed and ultimately delivered.

Alongside his role leading the practice, David has a particular interest in the changing relationship between planning, development and public policy, and in making complex planning issues more accessible. He is a Chartered Town Planner, qualified Urban Designer and Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts, with degrees from Cardiff University and the University of Westminster.
