David Sweeting
Planning Director
David is a Planning Director with around 15 years’ experience advising on development projects across Yorkshire and the wider North of England. His experience spans residential, mixed-use, energy, retail, healthcare and employment development, with a particular focus on providing strategic planning advice and helping clients navigate complex projects through the planning process.
Before joining Maddox Planning, David spent his career at Avison Young in Leeds, progressing from Graduate Planner to Director and becoming a senior member of its Northern planning team. During that time, he developed longstanding relationships with private-sector clients and local authorities across Yorkshire and the wider region, alongside substantial experience in project management, team leadership and business development.
David’s approach combines commercial awareness with clear, pragmatic planning advice and a strong understanding of the markets in which he works. Based in the North, he is helping to grow Maddox Planning’s presence across Yorkshire and beyond, bringing established regional knowledge and relationships to the practice.
